The canon SD550′s has an intelligent orientation sensor and it recognizes when the camera is rotated from horizontal to vertical and vice versa, as it stores the image it rotates on playback automatically so your images are always upright. The Canon SD550 also records VGA quality movies; no high definition here, but very high quality that can be sent via e mail is available. This is a great general purpose camera for those that want more than might be found on a smart phone or Ipad, but not so much more that you need a high end SLR.
Compact and portable, it should be a camera you use for years to come.
